GEORGIA

In Georgia’s 2024 general election, the state again played a key role as a battleground.

Republican Donald Trump narrowly won Georgia’s 16 electoral votes, securing about 50.73% of the vote to Democrat Kamala Harris’s 48.53%.

Republicans maintained control of both state legislative chambers—the Georgia House and Senate—with only small seat shifts favoring Democrats.

Voters approved several statewide amendments, including expanding a homestead tax exemption and creating a state tax court.

The election also featured high turnout, record early voting, strong election audits (which confirmed the tabulated results matched paper ballots and machine counts), and some logistical disruptions such as bomb threats at polling locations.
